Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation various development projects worth around ₹14,700 crore in Jind, Haryana, giving a major boost to infrastructure, clean mobility, healthcare and connectivity in the state.
A key highlight of the visit was the flag-off of India’s first hydrogen-powered train, marking a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards clean and sustainable transportation. The Prime Minister described the achievement as a testament to the success of Make in India and said hydrogen represents the fuel of the future.
Among the major infrastructure initiatives, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 157.92-km four-lane, access-controlled Haryana section of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, developed at a cost of around ₹9,680 crore. The expressway is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, ease congestion on NH-44 and support tourism, industrial and logistics development.
The projects also include major healthcare initiatives, including the dedication of Pandit Neki Ram Sharma Government Medical College in Bhiwani and Maharishi Chyavan Medical College along with Rao Tularam Hospital in Narnaul. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving access to medical services in Haryana.
The Prime Minister said the projects would strengthen clean mobility, connectivity, healthcare and cultural heritage, while contributing to an improved Ease of Living and accelerating Haryana’s overall development.
