In a significant boost to India’s drive towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat in defence, the Samarthak, the first indigenous Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) of the Indian Navy, has been delivered to the force.
The delivery marks an important milestone in strengthening India’s indigenous naval shipbuilding capabilities and reflects the growing role of Indian industry in meeting the operational requirements of the armed forces.
The multi-purpose vessel is designed to support a range of naval requirements, enhancing the Indian Navy’s operational flexibility and support capabilities. Its induction underscores India’s increasing ability to design and build specialised vessels domestically.
The delivery of Samarthak further reinforces the government’s focus on defence indigenisation, self-reliance and domestic shipbuilding, contributing to the broader vision of a stronger and more self-reliant Indian maritime force.
Samarthak’s delivery is yet another step towards building a technologically capable and Atmanirbhar Indian Navy.
