Financial assistance provided under the National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students (NFSC) Scheme has played a significant role in transforming the academic and professional journey of Dr. Anirudh Pradhan (name changed), a 30-year-old scholar from Sambalpur district of Odisha.

Coming from a family with limited financial resources and educational opportunities, Dr. Pradhan faced several challenges in pursuing his ambition of higher education and academic excellence. Financial constraints and the lack of proper guidance made it difficult for him to continue his advanced studies and meet the expenses associated with doctoral research.

A turning point came with the support of the National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste Students Scheme, implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. He began receiving fellowship assistance on December 27, 2019.

Under the scheme, he received financial support of ₹31,000 per month, along with contingency assistance. This financial backing helped him manage his educational and research-related expenses, allowing him to concentrate on his academic pursuits without facing significant financial pressure.

With consistent efforts and the support of the fellowship, Dr. Pradhan successfully completed his PhD and moved towards establishing a career in higher education. Today, he is serving as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Model Degree College, Nuapada, Khariar, Odisha, with a basic pay of ₹63,000.

The fellowship not only helped him achieve his doctoral ambitions but also strengthened his professional prospects, confidence and financial stability.
