The Indian Navy is set to commission three indigenous naval platforms in Kolkata, marking a significant milestone in India's journey towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing and maritime capability. The commissioning underscores the growing strength of the country's indigenous shipbuilding industry under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

The three platforms, designed and built in India, incorporate advanced technologies and modern combat systems to enhance the Navy's operational readiness across a wide spectrum of maritime missions, including surveillance, coastal defence, anti-submarine warfare and humanitarian assistance.

The induction of these platforms reflects the close collaboration between the Indian Navy, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), public sector shipyards and private industry in developing world-class naval assets domestically.

The commissioning ceremony in Kolkata is expected to highlight India's expanding defence manufacturing capabilities and reinforce the Navy's commitment to building a modern, technologically advanced and self-reliant maritime force capable of safeguarding national interests in the Indian Ocean Region.
