The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated an FPO-led export of frozen food products from Haryana to Canada, highlighting the growing participation of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in India’s agricultural export ecosystem.
The initiative connects Haryana’s farmer-led enterprises with an overseas market, creating opportunities to expand the reach of Indian processed and frozen food products. By supporting FPOs in accessing international markets, such efforts can strengthen value addition and create greater market opportunities for farmers and food-processing stakeholders.
The export also underscores the potential of processed food products to contribute to India’s agricultural export growth. Access to international markets can encourage FPOs to enhance product quality, packaging, processing and supply-chain capabilities in line with global requirements.
The shipment to Canada marks another step towards integrating farmer-led organisations into global food supply chains and promoting Indian agricultural and processed food products in international markets.
