The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted a flight test of its indigenously developed quasi-ballistic missile, Pralay, marking another significant milestone in India’s defence research and technological capabilities. The successful test highlights the country’s continued progress in developing advanced indigenous missile systems and strengthening its defence preparedness.
Pralay is a conventionally armed, surface-to-surface quasi-ballistic missile designed to meet specific operational requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. The missile incorporates advanced technologies and is designed to follow a quasi-ballistic trajectory, offering greater flexibility compared to conventional ballistic missile systems.
The development of Pralay reflects India’s growing capabilities in missile technology and its commitment to strengthening self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The successful flight test also demonstrates the expertise of Indian defence scientists, engineers and research teams involved in developing sophisticated indigenous weapon systems.
This achievement further reinforces India’s efforts to enhance its strategic capabilities through indigenous research, innovation and technological advancement.
