Shri Bharat Khera has assumed charge as Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, on May 1, 2026. A 1995-batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, Khera brings over three decades of administrative experience across key positions in both central and state governments.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, adding to his extensive policy and governance background. His appointment comes as part of a broader bureaucratic reshuffle, and he is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening policies and initiatives aimed at boosting India’s MSME sector, a key driver of economic growth and employment.
