On dated 07 APR 2025 The National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD), Dehradun, recently marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its newly established ‘Antar Drishti’ Dark Room. This specialized facility represents a crucial resource, offering a controlled environment for conducting low vision assessments and developing effective rehabilitation strategies tailored to individual needs.

 

Concurrent with this momentous occasion, NIEPVD formalized a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amar Seva Sangam. This collaborative agreement aims to leverage the expertise and resources of both institutions to enhance the quality of services provided to individuals with visual impairments. The MoU underscores a commitment to joint research initiatives, capacity building programs for professionals, and the development of innovative assistive technologies.

 

The inauguration of ‘Antar Drishti’ and the signing of the MoU with Amar Seva Sangam collectively signify NIEPVD’s unwavering dedication to empowering individuals with visual disabilities.
