Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee Year, marking six decades of the company’s contribution to India’s uranium mining and processing capabilities.  The milestone highlights UCIL’s long-standing role in supporting the country’s nuclear energy programme through the exploration, mining and processing of uranium resources. Over the past six decades, the organisation has developed capabilities and infrastructure associated with the nuclear fuel cycle.

The Diamond Jubilee celebration also reflects the growth of India’s indigenous expertise in uranium mining and processing. UCIL’s activities have contributed to strengthening the domestic resource base required for the country’s nuclear power programme.

The occasion provides an opportunity to recognise the efforts of generations of scientists, engineers, technical personnel and workers who have contributed to the organisation’s development and operations.

As UCIL enters its Diamond Jubilee year, its six-decade journey represents an important chapter in the development of India’s nuclear-sector capabilities and the continued expansion of indigenous expertise in uranium mining and processing.
