The Government has launched two key interventions to strengthen exports from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector under the Export Promotion Mission, aiming to enhance global competitiveness and expand market access for small businesses. The initiatives are designed to address long-standing challenges faced by MSME exporters, including limited access to international markets, lack of trade-related information, and constraints in meeting global quality and compliance standards. Officials said the interventions will provide targeted support to MSMEs, enabling them to integrate more effectively into global value chains.

Under the Export Promotion Mission, the new measures focus on capacity building, export facilitation and institutional support, helping MSMEs improve product quality, branding and marketing strategies. The interventions will also assist enterprises in navigating export procedures, certifications and logistics, thereby reducing transaction costs and delays.

The government said the MSME sector plays a critical role in India’s export ecosystem, contributing significantly to employment generation and economic growth. Strengthening MSME exports is seen as a key step towards achieving higher export targets and promoting inclusive development.

Officials added that the interventions will be implemented in coordination with export promotion councils, industry bodies and financial institutions to ensure wider outreach and effective execution. The initiatives are expected to boost MSME participation in international trade and enhance India’s export footprint in global markets.

The launch of these measures under the Export Promotion Mission reflects the government’s continued focus on empowering MSMEs and positioning them as strong drivers of export-led growth.
