In a significant move to bolster India’s position in the global telecommunications landscape, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) and the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Naya Raipur, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance research and development in next-generation telecom technologies and standards.

 

The strategic collaboration is designed to bridge the gap between academic research and practical standardization, with a sharp focus on accelerating innovation in critical areas such as 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI) in networks, Open RAN, and network security.

 

Director of TEC, emphasized the national importance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration with a premier institute like IIIT Naya Raipur is a cornerstone of our Bharat 6G Vision. By combining TEC’s standardization expertise with IIIT’s cutting-edge research capabilities, we can ensure that Indian contributions are integral to the future of global telecommunications and that our national standards are robust, secure, and self-reliant.”

 

Prof. and Director of IIIT Naya Raipur, highlighted the academic and industrial benefits, adding, “This MoU provides our faculty and students with a unique platform to work on real-world challenges that will define the next decade of connectivity. It is about translating theoretical research into tangible standards and technologies that will power India’s digital economy and create a highly skilled workforce for the future.”
