Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, today launched Blended Hospitality Services at Guwahati Railway Station, giving a fresh impetus to passenger-centric infrastructure development in the North Eastern Region.

The blended hospitality model integrates multiple passenger amenities such as waiting lounges, retiring rooms, food and beverage services and other facilities under a single professional management system, aimed at enhancing comfort, convenience and service quality for railway users.

Guwahati Railway Station, which serves as a key gateway to the North Eastern Region, caters to a large number of passengers daily. The introduction of blended hospitality services is expected to significantly improve the overall travel experience and support tourism and economic activity in the region.

The initiative forms part of Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to modernise stations and upgrade passenger amenities in line with global standards. It also complements the objectives of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, under which major stations are being redeveloped as integrated transport hubs.

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw reiterated the Government’s commitment to strengthening rail infrastructure and improving service delivery in the North Eastern Region, noting that enhanced connectivity and modern facilities play a crucial role in accelerating regional development.
