Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated a series of green mobility initiatives in Hansalpur, Gujarat, underscoring India’s commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly transport solutions.

The initiatives aim to accelerate the adoption of clean energy in the mobility sector, with a focus on electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy integration, and green logistics. Officials said the program will promote manufacturing of EVs and related infrastructure in Gujarat, which is emerging as a key hub for the automobile industry.

Speaking at the event, the Prime Minister said, “Green mobility is not just an environmental necessity but also an economic opportunity. With these initiatives, Gujarat will play a leading role in making India a global leader in sustainable transport.” The projects include the launch of new EV production facilities, charging infrastructure, and research centres for clean mobility technologies. Local communities are also expected to benefit from employment generation and skill development in the emerging green mobility sector.

The inauguration marks another step in India’s journey towards achieving its net-zero targets by 2070, while reducing urban pollution and dependence on fossil fuels.
