The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), under the Quality Council of India, has launched a new Medical Application Portal designed for laboratories seeking accreditation under ISO 15189:2022. The portal was officially rolled out during a virtual “GOING LIVE” event.

The new system aims to streamline and simplify the accreditation process, offering laboratories a restructured application flow that mirrors real-world operations. It comes with standardized templates, a comprehensive pre-registration checklist, multi-user access with role-based permissions, and an intuitive user interface.

According to NABL, the platform will drastically cut down accreditation timelines—reducing processes that earlier took weeks or months to just 2–3 hours. It is expected to enhance efficiency, transparency, and ease of doing business for medical laboratories across the country.

Chairperson of the Quality Council of India, Shri Jaxay Shah, said that this technology-driven model will soon be extended to other sectors, embedding innovation and strengthening India’s quality ecosystem.

The portal is anticipated to benefit hundreds of medical laboratories nationwide, ensuring a faster, more transparent, and user-friendly accreditation journey for compliance with international healthcare quality standards.
