The National Cadet Corps (NCC) mountaineering team safely returned to the Everest Base Camp today, May 19, 2025, after successfully scaling the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m), on May 18, 2025. This monumental achievement marks the third successful summit of Mount Everest by the NCC expedition team, following the earlier triumphs in 2013 and 2016.

In a remarkable feat of endurance and courage, a team of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets has successfully scaled Mount Everest, marking the third successful expedition by the NCC to the world’s highest peak. All members of the team have returned safely. The expedition was flagged off earlier this year under the guidance of experienced mountaineers and the Indian Army. After weeks of rigorous acclimatization and extreme weather conditions, the cadets reached the summit, unfurling the national flag at 8,848 meters above sea level.

The successful climb not only showcases the resilience and determination of India’s youth but also reinforces the NCC’s commitment to adventure and leadership training. This achievement adds another proud chapter to the organization’s legacy of fostering discipline and excellence.

Officials lauded the team’s efforts, with the Defence Ministry stating that the expedition “reflects the spirit of service, courage, and national pride.”
