Shri Sanjay Kumar inaugurated a newly developed microforest at PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Gautam Buddh Nagar, marking an important step towards promoting environmental sustainability and ecological awareness among students. The initiative aligns with national efforts to enhance green cover and instil environmental responsibility within educational institutions.

The microforest has been developed using dense plantation techniques that encourage rapid growth, improved biodiversity, and better carbon sequestration. By incorporating native plant species, the project aims to create a self-sustaining ecosystem that supports local flora and fauna while improving air quality and reducing the urban heat island effect.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Shri Sanjay Kumar highlighted the importance of integrating environmental conservation with education. He emphasized that such initiatives not only contribute to climate action but also serve as living laboratories for students, offering hands-on learning opportunities in biodiversity, ecology, and sustainable development.

Officials and faculty members of the Navodaya Vidyalaya noted that the microforest would play a vital role in fostering environmental consciousness among students. The project is expected to encourage participation in green initiatives such as tree plantation drives, waste management practices, and water conservation efforts.

The event witnessed the presence of school staff, students, and local officials, who collectively participated in plantation activities. The inauguration of the microforest reflects the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices under the PM SHRI (Prime Minister Schools for Rising India) initiative, which focuses on holistic development, including environmental stewardship.

With the establishment of the microforest, PM SHRI Navodaya Vidyalaya in Gautam Buddh Nagar has taken a meaningful step towards creating a greener campus, contributing to long-term ecological balance and reinforcing the message of sustainable living among future generations.
