On Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh dedicated 125 Border Roads Organisation (BRO) projects to the nation, marking a historic stride in infrastructure development along India’s frontiers. The inauguration ceremony, held in Ladakh, underscored the region’s strategic importance. Valued at approximately ₹5,000 crore, this infrastructure package comprises 28 roads, 93 bridges, and 4 miscellaneous projects, including tunnels, designed to enhance connectivity. These projects span nine border regions, including Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and others.

As stated by the Defence Minister, these developments reflect India’s commitment to bolstering border security, improving connectivity, and empowering remote communities. The inaugurated roads and bridges serve as lifelines for both the Armed Forces and the residents of border areas, facilitating improved access and fostering regional development.
