The Indian Navy successfully undertook a critical firefighting and rescue operation aboard the Palau-flagged oil tanker MT Yi Cheng 6, which reported a major fire in its engine room while transiting through the Arabian Sea. Responding swiftly to the distress call, Indian Naval forces deployed aircraft and warships to bring the situation under control.

 

The prompt intervention prevented potential loss of life and a large-scale marine pollution incident. The Navy evacuated crew members and stabilized the vessel, showcasing India’s commitment to maritime safety and regional security.
