The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KRAFTON India Pvt. Ltd. to support startups and strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem, with a focus on emerging digital sectors.

The partnership aims to promote innovation in areas such as online gaming, esports, interactive media, and artificial intelligence. Under the agreement, startups will receive mentorship, access to industry expertise, and opportunities to develop proof-of-concept solutions aligned with market needs.

Officials said the collaboration will also facilitate networking opportunities and provide startups with exposure to global best practices. It is expected to help young enterprises scale their operations and integrate more effectively into industry value chains.

As part of the initiative, DPIIT and KRAFTON India will jointly organise hackathons, workshops, and masterclasses to nurture talent and encourage innovation. Startups will also be able to participate in programmes such as the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge, gaining wider visibility and support.

The move reflects the government’s continued emphasis on public–private partnerships to accelerate growth in the digital economy and position Indian startups for global competitiveness.
