The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hero MotoCorp Limited to support and scale early-stage startups under the Startup India initiative.
The collaboration will focus on startups in future mobility, clean technology, and deep technology domains. Selected startups will gain access to Hero MotoCorp’s advanced R&D facilities in Germany and India, along with opportunities to connect with its extensive dealer, supplier, and partner network. The partnership will also offer mentorship, product prototyping support, and paid Proof of Concept (PoC) opportunities.
DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv emphasized that the initiative aims to fast-track the journey from idea to market, especially for product-focused startups from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, highlighted the company’s commitment to nation-building and its alignment with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Sumeet Jarangal, Director at DPIIT, and Utkarsh Mishra, Global Innovation Portfolio Lead at Hero MotoCorp.
This strategic alliance supports key national initiatives including Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, aiming to create a globally competitive and self-reliant startup ecosystem.
